Thundercat Lionel, also known as Lionel Richie, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He was born on June 20, 1949, in Tuskegee, Alabama. Lionel started his career as a member of the Commodores, a funk and soul band, in the 1970s.
In the 1980s, Lionel began his successful solo career, releasing hit songs such as "Endless Love," "All Night Long," and "Hello." He has won multiple Grammy Awards and has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Lionel has also acted in films such as "The Preacher's Wife" and "Lady Sings the Blues."
In addition to his music and acting career, Lionel is also known for his philanthropic work. He founded the Lionel Richie Foundation in 1986, which supports charitable causes such as education and health care for children. He was also a participant in the Live Aid concert in 1985 and the "We Are the World" charity single in 1985, both of which raised funds for famine relief in Africa.
